Since June 2004, Jim Allister QC MEP has been working vigorously for Northern Ireland's interests in Europe, both on the floor of the Parliament and on various committees on which he sits. In a book entitled, 'Leading for Ulster, Speaking for You', speeches made in the Parliament by the DUP MEP since his election up to November 2005 have been published. The book demonstrates not only the wide range of issues the Ulster MEP has spoken on, with world affairs and more parochial issues making for an interesting mix. Covering the period up to 30 November 2005, it shows his contributions far outstrip those of Northern Ireland’s other MEPs.  Since election to Strasbourg, Jim Allister has made 46 speeches in the Chamber, compared to 19 by De Brun and only 14 by Jim Nicholson.

Free copies of the book are available from Mr Allister's office at 139 Holywood Road, Belfast (Tel: 028 90 655011).
